Ambassador Cruise Line celebrates landmark year of progress and transformation in 2025

17 December 2025 – Ambassador Cruise Line (“Ambassador”), a Njord Partners portfolio company, announces a milestone year defined by progress and transformation. Since launching in the UK in April 2021, the Company’s growth has been underpinned by consistent commitment to achieve operational excellence, delivering exceptional experiences and realizing a shared vision of the European cruise market.

2025 Highlights:

  • Operational Excellence: In 2025, the fleet completed 89 sailings, visited 236 ports across 78 countries, and travelled nearly 210,000 nautical miles, all while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Strong Financial Performance: Healthy revenue growth and robust underlying financial results have established Ambassador as a financially secure and sustainably managed organization. This strong foundation reflects the confidence that both the Company and its investors can have in building sustainable, long-term success.
  • Successful Merger & Integration: The merger of Ambassador and CFC brought together three ships under one unified operational and strategic framework, delivering seamless guest experiences and operational excellence.
  • Prestigious Industry Awards: Ambassador received multiple awards, including wins at the British Travel Awards, Sailawaze Excellence Awards, Travel Marketing Awards, and Travel Bulletin Star Awards. Recognition from both trade and consumers is a significant achievement for a new entrant in a competitive market.

The year began with the strategic merger of Ambassador and CFC, bringing the three small-to-mid-sized ships, Ambience, Ambition, and Renaissance, under a single operational framework. The merger has already delivered tangible benefits including even higher guest satisfaction ratings, improved choice for customers and the Company has launched its first Caribbean fly-cruise season – an exciting milestone for the Group.

Major technology initiatives included completing an end-to-end fly-cruise booking journey in just six weeks, modernizing ship systems across the fleet, and launching a new, enhanced website and tools for travel agent partners and tour operators in France. These achievements reflect strong collaboration across Ambassador’s Engineering, Ship, Product, and Delivery teams, as well as with business partners.

It has been an award-winning year for Ambassador, culminating with three wins at the prestigious British Travel Awards 2025. As these awards are decided by public vote, they hold particular significance for the Ambassador team – as an emerging, independent cruise line, the team is delighted by the recognition it has received from its customers. Ambassador was named:

  • Winner: Best Cruise Line for No-Fly Cruise Holidays
  • Winner: Best Operator for Short Sailings & Mini Cruises
  • Winner: Best Cruise Line for Customer Service
  • Recognised: Best Entertainment at Sea

Additional 2025 accolades included:

  • Winner: Consumer Favourite for Collaborations, Sailawaze Excellence Awards
  • Winner: Best Cruise Line, Group Leisure & Travel Awards
  • Winner: Best Media Partnership (with Greatest Hits Radio), Travel Marketing Awards
  • Earned: Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award
  • Winner: Star Emerging Brand, Travel Bulletin Star Awards

To win awards voted for by both the trade and customers reflects the exceptional cruise experiences delivered by the Ambassador team and its efforts to provide a best-in-class experience for all. The whole team’s commitment to responsible tourism, sustainable operations, and meaningful partnerships demonstrate the brand’s positive impact both ashore and at sea.

Christian Verhounig, CEO of Ambassador, commented:

“We are very proud of the journey we have had this year, becoming a leader in the European affordable quality silver cruise market. The successful integration of Ambassador and CFC has unified our fleet under the highest environmental standards and delivered operational and financial strength, supported by record guest numbers and industry awards.”

“I would like to thank all our dedicated teams, both on board and shoreside, for their hard work throughout this successful year. Together, we have built a strong, sustainable foundation for the future, and I look forward to achieving much more in 2026.”

Jakob Kjellberg, Partner at Njord Partners, added:

“We’re proud to see Ambassador go from strength to strength this year, helping them navigate the cruise landscape to achieve the best possible results. Ambassador is well positioned for continued growth, with three ships operating year-round for the first time, an expanded presence in international markets, and strengthened trade partnerships. It’s a pleasure working alongside such a dynamic team and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow in 2026.”
